Common causes of "Invalid drive specification" messages.

There are several sets of circumstances that can return this status.

A. If the drive has not been partitioned (with FDISK) this message will be reported.

B. If the drive parameters (Cyl, Hd, Sec) set in CMOS DON'T match those of the drive this message will be returned indicating that the drive geometry read from the drive doesn't match what is entered in CMOS.

C. General hardware failure on the disk sub-system where the drive geometry cannot be read (causing the mismatch described in B). This could be a bad cable, misplaced cable (off by a pin or row) no DC power to the disk, bad disk PCB, incorrect jumpering on disk PCB. Any matter of problems that can cause the disk to be unreadable can return this error message.

NOTE!! On initial HDD install/upgrade I'd do a physical check on all the obvious things like cable placement, power connectors, listen to hear the disk seeking during it's POST test on pwr up. If this error occurs after the disk has been operating normally it is indicative of a failure of some type. May be hardware failure, or partition data may have been corrupted. This is NOT a good message to get from a working drive.

Error Message: Disk Boot failure

If your computer has just been formatted, your computer might require you to insert the boot CD to be able to run it. You might hence get the error message “Disk Boot Failure- Insert disk and press enter” displayed on the screen every time you will try to run it. This might be linked to:

1. The boot options not correctly set in BIOS
2. A non bootable CD is found in your CD drive
3. You do not possess any bootable device
4. You have installed a new hard disk
5. The hard disk is not properly plugged
6. Your system files have been infected

Solution 1: Ensure that your drives are empty

If there is a non bootable CD or disk in the drives, your computer might be attempting to boot the program with this disk. Hence, ensure that the floppy disk drive, the CD/R and DVD drives are all empty before restarting your computer and trying to run computer again.

Solution 2: BIOS set up

If this has not solved the problem, it might be linked to a wrong set up of BIOS. Hence,
1. To enter BIOS, press the F8 key when the Windows screen shows up upon the start of the computer.
2. Then all you have top do is to prioritize the boot sequence to Disk C:

Solution 3: New hard drive configuration

If you have just installed a new hard drive, you should insert the system installation CD and restart your computer again so that it reboots with the CD.

Solution 4: Hard drive not properly plugged in

If your hard drive is not properly plugged in, this can also lead to a rebooting error message. Hence, I will suggest you to switch off your computer and remove it from the power switch before checking the cables attached to it. Ensure also that the motherboard is correctly installed. Hence, put it again and try running your system.

Solution 5: Restore the corrupted system files

If neither solution has solved your issue, then it might be due to a corruption of your system files. Hence,
1. Start your computer with a system boot CD and once it is running, enter the command “Dir C:” to ensure that you can access the C: drive’s contents.
2. If the computer enables you to access the contents, then you can enter the command
“fdisk /mbr
sys c:”

What to do if a file cannot be deleted?

It often happens that while trying to delete a file or a folder, your system tells you that this particular file cannot be deleted at that time. These errors occur currently with video or music file formats. This can be due to a number of factors, such as:

Someone else is accessing the file/folder on the network or on a shared computer
You are trying to delete a system file that is being used by another program
You are trying to delete an infected folder or your system has been infected and prevents you from deleting this file
You have access restrictions on this particular file/folder
The file/folder has been saved in “Read only” format
Your system is not compatible with this kind of file and is hence displaying error messages.

Here are 5 solutions for that.....
Solution 1: Ensure that the file/folder is not in use

If you are using a shared computer, another user or program on the user’s account might be using the file/folder that you are trying to delete.
1. Ask the other user/s to close all the programs that they might be using
2. Make sure that they have log off from their account.
3. Restart your computer, log in to your account and try to delete the file/folder again.

Solution 2: Run your system on Safe Mode

If your system or the file has been infected by a virus, using the Safe Mode can allow you to delete it as most viruses get active while running the normal mode. Hence
1. Restart your system and when the first screen is displayed, press the F8 key on your keyboard.
2. Various booting options for your system should now be listed on the screen. Using your keyboard arrows, choose “Safe Mode”.
3. When the loading is done, choose the file/folder that has to be deleted, right-click on it and choose the “Delete” option.
4. Don’t forget to empty the Recycle Bin by right-clicking on the icon and choosing the option “Empty Recycle Bin”.

Solution 3: Download or update your Antivirus program

Solution 4: Use Notepad

You can try to use Notepad to open the file that you want to remove to bypass Windows Explorer and its indexing.
1. Open Notepad and go to the “File” and “Open” options
2. Ensure that the “File Type” option is set to “All files” and not only “Text documents”.
3. Once you have located the file that you want to delete, DO NOT double-click on it. Instead, use the right-click feature and choose “Delete” from the list.
4. Don’t forget to empty your Recycle Bin after this process.

Solution 5: Deactivate the Indexing service

1. Go to your Start button and choose “Control panel”
2. Select the “Administrative Tools” option and then “Services” tab.
3. When you find the “Indexing” option in the lower section of the window, select the “Stop” button.

How to speed up a slow PC?

If your PC is taking ages to boot up and is very slow while running programs, it might be due to a number of factors.

Problem 1: Not enough RAM

RAM stands for Random Access Memory and is used as a temporary storage memory by your computer. This memory is in use when tasks are being executed by different programs. Hence, you should have enough RAM memory to process all the tasks at hand; if you don’t this might cause the major slow down of your computer while it is booting up or processing tasks.
How to know if your computer has enough RAM? The programs that are installed on your computer usually have RAM requirements that are asked. If your computer has been running at a normal speed before the installation of such programs and has crucially slowed down with time, you might need to add more RAM on your computer system.
Also, if your computer is slowing down every time you are processing large files, or it freezes while executing several programs at once, these might be some common signs that you need to add extra RAM.

Problem 2: Temporary files have built up on your hard disk

Problem 3: Your computer has been infected

If your computer has been infected by a virus, a malware, a worm or a Trojan, it might have cause the slow down of your computer system and even freeze several tasks at hand. Hence, you should run a virus scan and remove all the infected files found on your system.

Problem 4: Not enough space on the hard disk

Adding very bulky programs will automatically slow down your computer system. Hence, I will suggest users with a hard disk capacity of 2GB to leave at least 250MB free and those who have a higher hard disk storage capacity to leave at least 20% of the total capacity free. This will hence allow your computer to have enough room both for temporary files and file swapping.

Defragmenting your hard disk

You can also choose to defragment your hard disk to gather some dispersed spaces that can be used by the computer again.
1. Go to your “Start” menu and list all programs
2. In the “Accessories” option, select “System Tools”
3. Choose “Disk Defragmenter” from the list
4. To start the process, click the “Defragment” button.

Problem 5: Your Direct Memory Access (DMA) is disabled

The Direct Memory Access will allow data transmission between your hard drive and CD drive without requiring the microprocessor’s intervention. Those using Windows XP will not have this option set by default.
1. Click on the Start button and open “Control Panel”
2. Click and open the “System” icon
3. Select the “Hardware” tab and choose “Device Manager” option.
4. List the ATA/ATAPI options by clicking the + icon next to it.
5. Select the “Primary IDE Channel” option

How to work with partitions in Windows Vista / XP when Disk Management doesn’t work?

Windows Vista’s Disk Management tool can be quite deceiving. It allows you to work with partitions at ease in a presentable GUI format - but with problems. There have been a lot of complaints and confusion as to why Windows Vista grays out the extend volume and shrink volume properties. In response to this, I have found an alternative way to work with partitions, allowing you to easily resize, delete, and create partitions.

Diskpart.exe does a very good job at working with partitions. Unlike Disk Management, Diskpart actually works!
Before continuing, make sure that you:

* Backed up all important files
* Do not run diskpart.exe with Dynamic Disks

1) First, you’ll want to pull out your Start Menu and type diskpart.exe (Windows XP users might have to download diskpart.exe )This will open a command-prompt like window. At this window, type list disk. This will list all your available hard disks.

2) Proceed by typing select disk to select the disk you want to work with.
Creating a Partition or Volume: (skip) At this point in time, you can create a partition.
Type create and a set of new options will be presented to you. To proceed, just type create . (e.g. create volume) What kind of partition should I create?

Primary: Primary partitions are limited to four per hard disk. If you are planning to install an operating system into a partition, you’ll want to choose primary since it is the only one that can be made bootable.

Extended: If you are planning to have more than four partitions, you’ll want to work with extended. An extended partition counts towards the limit of four, but you are then allowed to create logical volumes within these extended partitions. You’ll want to use extended partitions for backup or storage purposes only since they are not bootable.

3) Now we want to see which number is associated with the volume we want to work with. To obtain this list, type list volume

4) Select the desired volume by typing: select volume or select partition You then have a list of options to choose from. Below is a list of commands you can type in depending on what you want to do with your selected volume. If you don’t input a number for size, the program will automatically use all the space available for your operation. For the purpose of this tutorial, I have decided to work with 10GB. (1000MB = 1GB) ·

Shrink desired=10000 minimum=2000 (Shrinks the volume by 10GB. If that’s not possible, this command makes sure that you at least shrink the volume by 2GB.) ·

Extend size=10000

Disk Management can be quite a nuisance since it decides to gray out certain properties on any given day. Please spread the word about diskpart.exe if you know someone who has had trouble working with partitions; as I am sure there are lots who are having similar problems.

This opens ur temp folder n den u select all and delete.still try dis one too..

First go into gpedit.msc
Next select -> Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Terminal Services/Temporary Folder
Then right click "Do Not Delete Temp Folder Upon Exit"
Go to properties and hit disable. Now next time Windows puts a temp file in that folder it will automatically delete it when its done! Note from Forum Admin: Remember, GPEDIT (Group Policy Editor) is only available in XP Pro.

How to remove trojans that uses autorun.inf file?

Step1: Remove autorun.inf files from all your drives, include any usb/flash drives.
1. Manually:

Reboot your PC in Safe mode.

1. Restart your computer
2. After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3. Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4. Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Click Start -> Run.
In the type box enter cmd and press Enter.
In the command console type del /a:h /f c:\autorun.*
Repeat previous step to all drives, make replacing “c” with the appropriate drive letter.
2. Automatically.

Download Flash_Disinfector by sUBs and save it to your desktop.
Double-click Flash_Disinfector.exe to run it and follow any prompts that may appear.
The utility may ask you to insert your flash drive and/or other removable drives including your mobile phone.
Please do so and allow the utility to clean up those drives as well.
Wait until it has finished scanning and then exit the program.
Reboot your computer when done.

Step 2: Remove autorun.inf trojan from the windows registry.

#1: Use a Windows startup disk

One of the first things you should reach for when troubleshooting a Windows XP boot problem is a Windows startup disk. This floppy disk can come in handy if the problem is being caused when either the startup record for the active partition or the files that the operating system uses to start Windows have become corrupted.

To create a Windows startup disk, insert a floppy disk into the drive of a similarly configured, working Windows XP system, launch My Computer, right-click the floppy disk icon, and select the Format command from the context menu. When you see the Format dialog box, leave all the default settings as they are and click the Start button. Once the format operation is complete, close the Format dialog box to return to My Computer, double-click the drive C icon to access the root directory, and copy the following three files to the floppy disk:

Keep in mind that you get only one shot with the Last Known Good Configuration feature. In other words, if it fails to revive your Windows XP on the first attempt, the backup copy is also corrupt.

#3: Use System Restore

Another tool that might be helpful when Windows XP won't boot is System Restore. System Restore runs in the background as a service and continually monitors system-critical components for changes. When it detects an impending change, System Restore immediately makes backup copies, called restore points, of these critical components before the change occurs. In addition, System Restore is configured by default to create restore points every 24 hours.

To use System Restore, first restart the computer by pressing [Ctrl][Alt][Delete]. When you see the message Please select the operating system to start or hear the single beep, press [F8] to display the Windows Advanced Options menu. Now, select the Safe Mode item from the menu and press [Enter].

Once Windows XP boots into Safe mode, click the Start button, access the All Programs | Accessories | System Tools menu, and select System Restore. Because you're running in Safe mode, the only option on the opening screen of the System Restore wizard is Restore My Computer To An Earlier Time, and it's selected by default, so just click Next. Then, follow along with the wizard to select a restore point and begin the restoration procedure.

#4: Use Recovery Console

When a Windows XP boot problem is severe, you'll need to use a more drastic approach. The Windows XP CD is bootable and will provide you with access to a tool called Recovery Console.

To boot from the Windows XP CD, insert it into the CD-ROM drive on the problem system and press [Ctrl][Alt][Delete] to reboot the computer. Once the system begins booting from the CD, simply follow the prompts that will allow the loading of the basic files needed to run Setup. When you see the Welcome To Setup screen, shown in Figure A, press R to start the Recovery Console.

You'll then see a Recovery Console menu, like the one shown in Figure B. It displays the folder containing the operating system's files and prompts you to choose the operating system you want to log on to. Just press the menu number on the keyboard, and you'll be prompted to enter the Administrator's password. You'll then find yourself at the main Recovery Console prompt.

#5: Fix a corrupt Boot.ini

As the Windows XP operating system begins to load, the Ntldr program refers to the Boot.ini file to determine where the operating system files reside and which options to enable as the operating system continues to load. So if there's a problem rooted in the Boot.ini file, it can render Windows XP incapable of booting correctly.

If you suspect that Windows XP won't boot because Boot.ini has been corrupted, you can use the special Recovery Console version of the Bootcfg tool to fix it. Of course, you must first boot the system with the Windows XP CD and access the Recovery Console as described in #4.

To use the Bootcfg tool, from the Recovery Console command prompt, type

Bootcfg /parameter

Where /parameter is one of these required parameters:

* /Add--Scans the disk for all Windows installations and allows you to add any new ones to the Boot.ini file.
* /Scan--Scans the disk for all Windows installations.
* /List--Lists each entry in the Boot.ini file.
* /Default--Sets the default operating system as the main boot entry.
* /Rebuild--Completely re-creates the Boot.ini file. The user must confirm each step.
* /Redirect--Allows the boot operation to be redirected to a specific port when using the Headless Administration feature. The Redirect parameter takes two parameters of its own, [Port Baudrate ] | [UseBiosSettings].
* /Disableredirect--Disables the redirection.

#6: Fix a corrupt partition boot sector

The partition boot sector is a small section of the hard disk partition that contains information about the operating system's file system (NTFS or FAT32), as well as a very small machine language program that is crucial in assisting the operating system as it loads.

If you suspect that Windows XP won't boot because the partition boot sector has been corrupted, you can use a special Recovery Console tool called Fixboot to fix it. Start by booting the system with the Windows XP CD and accessing the Recovery Console as described in #4.

To use the Fixboot tool, from the Recovery Console command prompt, type

Fixboot [drive]:

Where [drive] is the letter of the drive to which you want to write a new partition boot sector.

#7: Fix a corrupt master boot record

The master boot record occupies the first sector on the hard disk and is responsible for initiating the Windows boot procedure. The master boot record contains the partition table for the disk as well as a small program called the master boot code, which is responsible for locating the active, or bootable, partition, in the partition table. Once this occurs, the partition boot sector takes over and begins loading Windows. If the master boot record is corrupt, the partition boot sector can't do its job and Windows won't boot.

If you suspect Windows XP won't boot because the master boot record has been corrupted, you can use the Recovery Console tool Fixmbr to fix it. First, boot the system with the Windows XP CD and access the Recovery Console as described in #4.

To use the Fixmbr tool, from the Recovery Console command prompt, type

Fixmbr [device_name]

Where [device_name] is the device pathname of the drive to which you want to write a new master boot record. For example, the device pathname format for a standard bootable drive C configuration would look like this:

\Device\HardDisk0

#8: Disable automatic restart

When Windows XP encounters a fatal error, the default setting for handling such an error is to automatically reboot the system. If the error occurs while Windows XP is booting, the operating system will become stuck in a reboot cycle--rebooting over and over instead of starting up normally. In that case, you'll need to disable the option for automatically restarting on system failure.

When Windows XP begins to boot up and you see the message Please select the operating system to start or hear the single beep, press [F8] to display the Windows Advanced Options Menu. Then, select the Disable The Automatic Restart On System Failure item and press [Enter]. Now, Windows XP will hang up when it encounters the error and with any luck, it will display a stop message you can use to diagnose the problem.

#9: Restore from a backup

If you can't seem to repair a Windows XP system that won't boot and you have a recent backup, you can restore the system from the backup media. The method you use to restore the system will depend on what backup utility you used, so you'll need to follow the utility's instructions on how to perform a restore operation.

#10: Perform an in-place upgrade

If you can't repair a Windows XP system that won't boot and you don't have a recent backup, you can perform an in-place upgrade. Doing so reinstalls the operating system into the same folder, just as if you were upgrading from one version of Windows to another. An in-place upgrade will usually solve most, if not all, Windows boot problems.

Performing a Windows XP in-place upgrade is pretty straightforward. To begin, insert the Windows XP CD into the drive, restart your system, and boot from the CD. Once the initial preparation is complete, you'll see the Windows XP Setup screen (shown earlier in Figure A). Press [Enter] to launch the Windows XP Setup procedure. In a moment, you'll see the License Agreement page and will need to press [F8] to acknowledge that you agree. Setup will then search the hard disk looking for a previous installation of Windows XP. When it finds the previous installation, you'll see a second Windows XP Setup screen, as shown in Figure C.

This screen will prompt you to press R to repair the selected installation or to press [Esc] to install a fresh copy of Windows XP. In this case, initiating a repair operation is synonymous with performing an in-place upgrade, so you'll need to press R. When you do so, Setup will examine the disk drives in the system. Keep in mind that after you perform an in-place upgrade or repair installation, you must reinstall all updates to Windows.

Microsoft has been reported of a vulnerability discovered in Windows operating systems Windows XP, Windows 2000 and Windows Server 2003 which exploits the VB Script. Microsoft has recently released an Advisory named “Microsoft Security Advisory (981169)”

As per the advisory there is a vulnerability that if a user presses F1 Key on being asked by a Website or webpage, the website can run potentially malicious code or scrip on such computers. That computer can get hacked, information can be stolen or it may also lead to data theft.

It is an advice to all our readers and Windows XP, Windows 2002 and Windows 2003 Server users to beware of this vulnerability and do not press the F1 Key when asked by a website. This may leave your computer unsecured or infected with virus or trojans.

Same 'rearm' command that worked for Vista extends activation-free grace period
Like its predecessor, Windows 7 can be used for up to 120 days without providing a product activation key, Microsoft confirmed today. Although Microsoft generally touts a 30-day time limit for users to activate their copies of the company's operating system, a little-known command designed for corporate administrators can be used by anyone to "reset" the countdown up to three times.

Late yesterday, the Windows Secrets newsletter published step-by-step instructions on using a single-line command to add an additional 90 days to the stock 30-day grace period.

Microsoft allows users to install and run any version of Windows 7 for up to 30 days without requiring a product activation key, a 25-character alphanumeric string that proves the copy is legitimate. During the 30-day grace period, Windows 7 operates as if it has been activated. As the grace period shrinks, however, increasingly-frequent messages appear on the screen. For example, on days four through 27, a pop-up asks the user to activate once each day. During days 28 and 29, the pop-up displays every four hours, while on Day 30, it appears hourly.

But by invoking the "slmgr -rearm" command at a Windows 7 command prompt, users can reset the time-until-activation to 30 days, said Woody Leonard, a contributing editor to Windows Secrets and the author of several computer books, including Windows Vista All-in-One Desk Reference for Dummies.

"You can run the -rearm trick a total of three times," said Leonard. "If you perform a -rearm at the end of each 30-day period, you end up with 120 days of full, unfettered Windows 7 use, without having to supply an activation key."

Leonard tested the command on Windows 7 RTM (release to manufacturing), the final build of the operating system that Microsoft has already shipped to computer makers and distributed to IT professionals and developers who subscribe to the TechNet and MSDN services.

Microsoft confirmed that "-rearm" can be used as many as three times by Windows 7 users to avoid activation. "This means [that] a total of 120 days total time is available as a grace period to customers that take advantage of -rearm," said a company spokeswoman.

Nor is extending the grace period a violation of the Windows 7 End User License Agreement (EULA), the spokeswoman said.

Windows Secrets and others published information about the same grace period extension two years ago, shortly after Microsoft launched Vista. "Rearm is the same in Windows 7 as in Vista," noted Brian Livingston, the editor of Windows Secrets, in an interview yesterday.

Microsoft introduced product activation in 2001's Office XP and also used it in that year's Windows XP. The feature was toughened up for Vista, however; after the grace period, non-activated PCs running Vista dropped into what Microsoft called "reduced functionality" mode. In reduced mode, users could only browse the Web with Internet Explorer, and then only for an hour before being forced to again log on.

In early 2008, however, Microsoft revamped that process, which some had dubbed a "kill switch," in favor of a black background and constant nagging reminders. Later in 2008, Microsoft introduced the same procedures to Windows XP when it rolled out Service Pack 3 (SP3).

In February 2009, Microsoft said Windows 7 would use the same reminders, a black screen and persistent notices.

"We knew that -rearm worked on the beta and RC [of Windows 7], but until it was finished, there was no way to be sure it would work in the final," said Livingston.

Although Windows 7 won't go on sale until Oct. 22, the RTM build has leaked to file-sharing sites. In fact, the build that Microsoft later identified as RTM hit BitTorrent almost a week before the company officially announced the milestone.

The -rearm command isn't the only way users can run Windows 7 without paying. Until about 11 a.m. ET Thursday, users can download a free copy of Windows 7 Release Candidate (RC), the last public preview issued before Microsoft wrapped up work on the OS.

The CE4100 processor is the first 45nm-manufactured consumer electronics SoC based on Intel architecture. It supports Internet and broadcast applications on one chip, and has the processing power and audio/video components necessary to run rich media applications such as 3-D graphics.

Is this remarkable advancement enough to make a real change in TV?

"It's an incredibly powerful product -- and at 45nm, it's far closer to what the industry needs," John Barber, a research analyst at Gartner (NYSE: IT) More about Gartner, told TechNewsWorld. "But it's still questionable in terms of industry adoption, simply because current architectures are under tremendous price pressures from box manufacturers."

Intel will "make a significant impact in Internet TV in scale and market share when it reaches 32nm and below," added Barber.
Cracking the Navigation Nut

One could also make the argument that the cable industry, in particular, is badly in need of some oomph in its sagging numbers during this recession. Normally, cable subscriptions increase during a recession; people seek more in-home entertainment since they can't afford to go out. Not this time.

What's more, the TV Widget gives us another platform to connect and interact with our audience while delivering an exciting new television experience."

Intel is working with the industry to expand Widget Channel, in order to provide consumers with a range of services such as movies, music, games and personal videos.

"Web content to the TV will evolve and come via many types of devices," Mary Ragland, spokesperson for Intel, told TechNewsWorld. "Consumers will see connected CE devices coming to market -- like advanced set-tops and Blu-ray Disc players powered by Intel media processors -- to bring Web content and entertainment to their TVs. As business models and products evolve, this will eventually come to HDTVs."

"Eventually" may be the operative word, however.

"Internet TVs are a long way from making inroads in consumer households, and it's not just because they don't have an Intel chip inside," James L. McQuivey, vice president and principal analyst at Forrester, told TechNewsWorld.

"It's mostly because TV makers have been trying to use their own silicon to keep costs down while they wait to see if connected TVs will even sell. It's not just a chicken-and-egg problem," McQuivey explained, "it's a chicken-egg-and-rooster problem -- by which I mean that TV makers are waiting to see if consumers want these TVs; consumers are waiting to see if there will be any valuable content on these TVs from content providers; content providers are waiting to see if consumers are going to want these TVs. Basically, everybody's waiting to see what everyone else will do."

Any TV maker that decided to incorporate Intel chips now would be making a "big leap," McQuivey continued, and that's not likely to happen unless there's some strong indication consumers would be willing to pay a premium price for them.

"If Intel can get its TV chips down in form factor and therefore at a better price point, it will obviously help," said McQuivey, "but will it happen fast enough so that TV makers don't commit to some less effective but less expensive alternative? That's the big question right now."

One day I decided to quit.... I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality. ...

I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.

"When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them.

I gave them light. I gave them water.

The fern quickly grew from the earth. Its brilliant green covered the floor.

Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.

In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful.

And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed.

But I did not quit on the bamboo".

He said. "In the third year, there was still nothing from the bamboo seed.

But I would not quit.

In the fourth year, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed.

I would not quit."

He said. "Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth.

Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant.

But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 Feet tall.

It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.

I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle."

He said to me. "Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots. I Would not quit on the bamboo. I will never quit on you. Don't compare yourself to others."

He said. "The bamboo had a different purpose than the Fern, yet, they both make the forest beautiful."

"Your time will come, "God said to me." You will rise high!"

"How high should I rise?" I asked.

"How high will the bamboo rise?" He asked in return.

"As high as it can?" I questioned.

"Yes." He said, "Give me glory by rising as high as you can."

I left the forest and brought back this story.

RECOVER / RESTORE ACCIDENTALLY DELETED FILES

If important documents or files are accidentally deleted, Don’t panic as the Windows operating system’s file system in such a way that it doesn’t physically remove the file unless another file overwrites its data in the storage space. You can recover and restore deleted files using a simple tool.

Undelete Plus retrieves
deleted files, and its main attraction is that it can be run from a USB stick or a CD. You can restore files from Laptops Computers, PCs, memory cards, Flash Drives and Cameras. This means that the missing files won’t be overwritten since there is no installation process. Get it here.

The menu is easy to understand. Just select the corresponding hard disk on the left panel and click ‘Search’. The search process takes some time depending on the memory size viz 30 minutes for a 250 GB hard disk, which is still better than having to lose the data. The search results are displayed in the main window with a ‘Status’ tag displayed with every find. Unless this tag is ‘Very good’ you can’t successfully restore the file, since parts could have even been deleted, thus making the file irrecoverable.

’Search’ also categorizes the files detected according to file type. For instance, only videos will be displayed on selecting AVI. The ‘Folder’ view is very useful, especially if you remember the directory in which the document was initially located, since it means that you can immediately find it.

Once the files have been found, mark them and set their destination folder using the ‘Restore files to’ link. We recommend restoring them to a completely different location, such as another partition or an external storage device, so that data is not overwritten during the recovery process. ‘Restore’ also comes in handy when you accidentally send a file to the Recycle Bin and empty it.

RECOVER DATA FROM A CRASHED HARD DRIVE USING PC INSPECTOR

HARD DISK is one of the most annoying problems and they come without warning. But the data is usually not wiped clean from the CRASHED HARD DRIVE; rather, the file allocation table—which contains filenames and points to data on the drive—is what usually gets damaged. It is therefore technically possible to recover data in such situations; you only need to know the Tools of the trade. The tool we’re talking about is PC Inspector File Recovery, a freeware that can be downloaded from PC INSPECTOR.

If you’ve lost data on a partition on a drive other than C, just install the program in Windows. If your entire hard drive has crashed and you’re unable to boot, install the program on another computer and attach your hard drive as a secondary drive on that computer.

1. Launch The Program

Launch PC Inspector FILE RECOVERY, choose English as your language, and click on the green tick button. Choose what kind of data you wish to recover by clicking on one of the three buttons to the left. If you choose Lost Data, go directly to Step 6; if you choose lost drive, go directly to Step 8. If it is deleted data that you wish to recover, click on the icon at the top left.

2. Select The Drive

The program will scan your hard drive for some time for available partitions, after which it will display them. You will most likely be able to select the drive from the Logical Drives tab. It may sometimes be listed twice; select the entry containing the drive’s letter. To verify the drive’s content, click the Preview button. Click on the tick button to continue to the next step.

3. Sniffing Out Deleted Files

The selected drive will now be scanned; this may take a few minutes. A Deleted folder will be displayed (with the Recycle Bin icon). You need to go through this folder to locate the files you wish to recover. You might find that the original filename has not been preserved. You can opt to search for the file in the following way: choose Object > Find, enter the file type, and click on the green tick to search.

4. Recovering The File

A list of matching files will appear after the search process ends. If the file you’re searching for does not appear, you can use the Size and Date Modified columns to help identify it (assuming you know these details). Click on the top of these columns to arrange them accordingly, to make it easier to locate the file. Select the possible candidates by keeping on clicking on them while keeping [Ctrl] pressed. Keeping [Ctrl] pressed, right-click on them and choose Save to. Choose a location.

5. Check And Rename

After they are restored, you should try to open the files to see if they are indeed the files you were looking for. After confirming this, you can rename them to what they were and copy them to the original location later. If the files are not the ones you were searching for, return to PC INSPECTOR.
File Recovery and try to search for them again.

6. Find Your Lost Data

Sometimes data is lost due to a quick format or due to system or program crash. In such cases, you should choose the Lost Data button (the middle button on the left) in the main screen of PC Inspector File Recovery. In this case, data is retrieved in a way similar to deleted files. Select the drive from the Logical Drives list and click on the tick button when the Select Cluster Range dialog appears. The process of identification of files to be retrieved begins; this will take some time.

7. Retrieve The Lost Data

You will see that PC Inspector File Recovery has found hundreds of “lost” files—many will be fragments. It will take quite a bit of your time to go through them all, but it is worthwhile because you have a chance of getting back precious files. Repeat steps 3 to 5 to find your file and check its integrity.

8. Find The Lost Drive

If your partition table has been damaged, you may no longer be able to view any drive from the affected hard drive in the Logical Drives list. You’ll have to manually search for it. Click on the Physical drive tab from the Select Drive dialog, and select your hard drive—usually named fixed disk #1. Click on Find logical drives.

9. Search Within Clusters

You can choose to scan the entire drive for lost drives, or if you have some idea about where the partition was physically located on the disk, you can move the sliders to concentrate the search on that particular area. Now click on the tick button and wait for the search to complete, after which you can select the logical drive to recover your files and folders (as explained in the previous steps).

bought a computer for our home and we have found some problems, which I want to

1. There is a button 'start' but there is no 'stop'
button. We request you to check this.

2. We find there is 'Run' in the
menu. One of my friends clicked 'run ' he ran upto Amritsar ! So, we request you
to change that to 'sit', so that we can click that by sitting.

3. One
doubt is whether any 're-scooter' is available in system? I find only
